At present, barcodes are read effectively by dedicated scanners. Recently, there has been a growing interest in image-based barcode readers and a rise in demand for them in the industrials sector. Here, these readers are expected to simultaneously read multiple barcodes captured by the surveillance camera with a large field-of-view. Unfortunately, the current barcode reading apps are unable to handle scenarios such as images taken in low lighting conditions, low resolution images, presence of multiple barcodes, out of focus barcodes, etc. This patent addresses all the above situations and provides a means for reading barcodes effectively from an image for industrial and individual use cases
