I am the lead engineer for a C-V2X project with a Japanese test and measurement company. After the WFH policy was announced to ensure safety of all engineers, everyone in our team took the appropriate steps to ensure business continuity for the customer.
We established an effective process to manage and track tasks, issues at hands, and potential blockers for our work, which our project manager regularly checked and provided quick resolutions. Daily meetings through MS Teams were also conducted to ensure we stayed in touch. This way we guaranteed higher productivity and employee motivation to ensure it was business as usual. Our colleague in Japan also worked tirelessly by providing two way communications with the customer, and also conveyed any technical issues we faced during this time.
The efforts of the IT and procurement teams provided the necessary laptops along with lab and hardware access. This guaranteed the on-time successful delivery of two releases for the customer and the delivery of our final milestone. It was lauded as a truly commendable feat considering the circumstances we were working in.
