I handle Digital projects for two of our European customers. We had to ensure that the infrastructure used in an ODC environment was replicated in the best possible manner for all team members to WFH. In collaboration with our IT and facility management teams, we provisioned laptop/desktops for remote working even before WFH was mandated by the government.
Next, we identified team members who tested the connectivity and other issues before WFH was announced and ensured that we could begin WFH with 100% efficiency. Once WFH started, we started having virtual meetings twice daily to track progress and resolve issues. The team collaborated efficiently by posting any issues in the group and helped each other in solving issues.
We had planned well in advance to ensure the required hardware was available in the residences of our engineers, thus ensuring that there were no issues in carrying out both development and testing activities. We overcame burnout by establishing video conferences to keep the team engaged and motivated. We took care to discuss non-work-related issues as we would during office breaks. The co-ordination ensured that productivity was as good as it would be in office.
A testimony to the successful implementation of WFH is that our customers have acknowledged our business continuity readiness and were delighted with our quality and on-time delivery.
